Counsel from someone who has run the kinds of businesses he now advises.

Tripod Solutions is led by Domenic De Fazio, a civil engineer and former senior executive whose career spans hands-on project delivery through to leading a 2,500-person business across Australia and New Zealand. The counsel is grounded in how construction and infrastructure organisations actually run, at every scale.

Every engagement is led personally by the Principal. The person you meet in the first conversation is the person who does the thinking and delivers the work. Where deeper specialist capability is needed, it comes through a trusted referral network under his management.

Tripod serves founder-owners of construction and infrastructure businesses, the executive teams of mid-tier contractors, the boards of private and PE-backed infrastructure businesses, and industry associations, peak bodies, and government-adjacent organisations.

Founder/Owner Advisory Retainer

Monthly retainer for Founder/Owners of construction and infrastructure businesses ready for the next phase, be it stepping back or scaling up. Business strategy, operating model design, trusted counsel on performance, commercial decisions, and organisational challenge. Consistent senior thinking, structured around the client's situation.

02 Advisory

Advisory Consulting

Time-based or fixed project-based engagements for owner-operators and executive leadership teams in construction and infrastructure businesses. Operational review, bid strategy, project recovery, governance preparation, and acquisition due diligence.

03 Advisory

Fractional / Interim Senior Advisor

Extended engagements where a senior operator is required on a part-time or interim basis. Two to three days per week, three to twenty-four months. Mid-tier through to larger organisations.

Domenic De Fazio

Domenic De Fazio is a civil engineer with over 30 years in Australian and New Zealand construction and infrastructure. His career has progressed through project delivery, operations management, and executive leadership of major contracting organisations, with direct accountability for revenue, people, transactions, and operational reform.

As Chief Executive of Urban Infrastructure at Broadspectrum, he led a 2,500-person business across Australia and New Zealand through a contested sale and the disruption of COVID. He was Chief Executive of Fulton Hogan's New Zealand construction business and Chief Operating Officer of BildGroup. His foundation in major civil project delivery was built at Transfield, including the Melbourne CityLink construction project.

He is a former Victorian Branch President and Chairman of the Civil Contractors Federation. His director experience spans alliance boards, statutory bodies, and private boards, including the Kaikoura Earthquake Recovery Alliance Board, Melbourne Water alliance boards, VIDA Roads Leadership Teams, and multiple Broadspectrum subsidiary boards.

Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust). Bachelor of Civil Engineering. Foundation in major civil project delivery.

Governance

Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Director track record across alliance boards, statutory bodies, and private boards.

How an engagement starts.

Three steps from first contact to the work beginning. No proposal process, no intake forms.

A direct conversation

Every engagement begins with a direct conversation between you and Domenic. The purpose is to understand the situation, test whether a Tripod engagement is the right answer, and decide together how to proceed. If it is not the right fit, Domenic will say so.

A short scope

Where there is fit, a short scoping conversation defines the work, the duration, and the commercial basis. A simple engagement agreement records scope, rate, intellectual property, and confidentiality. Clear and simple.

The work begins

Work starts on the date agreed in the scope, at the cadence the engagement needs - a monthly retainer rhythm, day-rate blocks, or an interim schedule. You work with Domenic throughout.
